Come fish with us! Lake Weslemkoon is well known for it’s Large and Small mouth Bass. In addition to bass, the lake is a healthy trout fishery with a unique species of Lake trout.

Summer fishing ranges from bass in all areas of the lake to perch, blue gill, fallfish and lake trout. You will need more than one visit to cover all of the bays and coves throughout the 61 mile perimeter of the lake. Practice catch and release, or keep some for a fish fry!

Lake Weslemkoon is well known for those lunker trophy bass. It is not uncommon to catch 5 to 7lb large mouth bass. Cast and retrieve near the shores of the islands and the sunken tree stumps. There are also lots of rock shelf drop offs where you can just sit with a worm and a bobber and do well! Of course you can also fill your tackle box with bass busters and surface lures for a change up. Take a picnic lunch with you and stop on one of the crown land islands to refresh, swim and explore. Enjoy the scenery while loons swim by you. Back at the cottage relax while the kids fish for rock bass off the docks.

The Lake Weslemkoon trout fishery includes a unique genetic strain of lake trout. This species of trout have been isolated for a long period of time and possess certain characteristics which make them better adapted for survival in this area. Based on these factors, the trout in Lake Weslemkoon have their eggs harvested for development at the Hastings Fish Hatchery. These fingerlings are then disbursed locally into other Ontario trout lakes.

We know you will have a successful summer fishing outing while visiting us at Hidden Cove. We provide a fish cleaning station with galvanized sinks and water pump.

*Accomodations can be provided for ice fishing season for those who bring their own ice fishing gear. Please contact us for information.
